What is the IB Diploma Program?

The International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (IB DP) is a rigorous, academically challenging and balanced program of study designed to prepare students aged 16 to 19 for success at university and in life. The DP program aims to encourage students to be knowledgeable, inquisitive, caring, open-minded, and to develop intercultural understanding and understanding of different points of view.

The IBDP is recognized and respected by the world's leading universities, and data shows that more DP students go on to university and tertiary education than non-IB students.

Throughout the program, DP students are encouraged to reflect on the nature of knowledge, conduct independent research, and create community projects. Students choose six subjects, one from each group, three at higher level (HL) and three at standard level (SL).

The core of the diploma program

The core DP, which consists of three mandatory components, aims to enhance the educational experience of students and stimulate them to apply their knowledge and skills.
