Oliver Sabio Calledo

My name is Oliver Sabio Calledo. I was born and grew up in Davao City, Philippines, where I finished my Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education Major in Social Studies, and obtained my professional license to teach in 2005. From 2005 until 2013, I spent my first eight years teaching in a Filipino-Chinese school.

Years later, I pursued my Master’s degree in Education teaching Social Studies; however, while working on my thesis writing, I applied and was offered to teach at an international school in Jakarta, Indonesia. From 2013 – 2019, I taught IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education) and AS/A (Advanced Subsidiary/Advanced) Level Geography and Humanities in Jakarta. With sheer hard work and dedication, I was appointed and promoted as the subject head of the department for five years. My international teaching stint in Indonesia expanded my horizons and opened great opportunities.

Erdal Ozkul

Turkey/Istanbul

About me:

I have been teaching mathematics for more than 20 years both in international and private schools. I come from Istanbul, Turkey. I graduated from METU which is one of the top universities in my country. I believe Education and teachers are the most important elements of life. That is one of the main reasons I am still a teacher now. I also love to work with children which makes me feel and stay younger. One of the most exciting things for me as a teacher is to support and motivate students in their journey of growing stronger and even see them surpass me at some point.

I love Japanese Martial Arts in general and practiced and taught Aikido specifically for 15 years. I love everything about the sea including swimming, diving, and fishing.

I am passionate about Mathematics teaching. Maths is a subject like no other; its complexity makes it a challenging and often frustrating area of study, however, the logic behind every problem leaves a feeling of certainty about it. I believe the way to find this certainty could change from student to student but the answer is going to be the same (2+2=4). I aim to lead the students in their learning journey.

I wish all the members of the school a healthy, happy, and peaceful academic year!

Kind regards.
